Before and After Security Smoking

Smoking is only permitted in four designated areas outside the terminals.

Update from Charles on the 14th March 2019:

Outside only: You can smoke at departure at very east end is small area with bench and pole-tray.  You can smoke at arrivals near bag claim 9 is small area with bench and pole-tray.

 

Feedback from AJ on the 25th September 2017:

I can confirm that PDX International Airport in Portland, only has smoking areas for fliers outside of the airport.  There are two official smoking sections, one on each end of the load/drop off zones on the first level (outside of baggage claim areas).

I have also smoked without issue on the pickup platform, second level, outside route.

E-Cigarette use is also banned.

For airside employees, there are six areas indicated with signs and receptacles.

For connecting flights you may need to enter the United States and smoke outside terminal then go through Security again for your flight.
