Virgin Gorda Airport (VIJ) also known as Taddy Bay Airport is a small public airport serving Spanish Town on the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. Situated just a few meters above sea level, it operates a single 945 meter (3,100 ft) unpaved sand and gravel runway, making it suitable primarily for STOL capable turboprops such as the Twin Otter and Britten Norman Islander. The airport is owned and operated by the Government of the BVI, which purchased it from the Little Dix Bay Resort in 2005. Historically, VIJ saw scheduled service from carriers like American Eagle, Eastern Express, Crown Air, Dorado Wings, and Air BVI, with most flights linking Virgin Gorda to San Juan, St. Thomas, and nearby islands. Today, Air Sunshine provides the only scheduled service, while Island Birds Air Charter and other operators offer on demand charter flights, keeping the airport an essential but modest gateway for inter island connectivity.
