Thailand has some of the strictest laws in the world when it comes to vaping. The sale and import of vaping products are illegal, and those who are caught breaking the law could face significant fines or even imprisonment. In addition, vaping in public places is also banned, and there are fines for those caught breaking this law as well.
While it may be tempting to bring your vaping device and e-liquids with you when traveling to Thailand, it is not recommended. If you are caught with vaping products at the airport, they will be confiscated, and you could face legal consequences.
Thailand enforces one of the strictest vaping bans in the world, prohibiting the import, sale, possession, and use of all e-cigarettes and related devices since 2014. Authorities treat every component devices, pods, coils, nicotine or non nicotine liquids, and even CBD/THC vape hardware as illegal.
Penalties are severe: importing a vape can lead to up to 10 years in prison and fines up to 500,000 THB, while possession or use can result in arrest, confiscation, and fines often calculated at several times the device's value. Enforcement is active at airports, tourist zones, and police checkpoints, and foreign visitors receive no exemptions. The legal framework is supported by the 2014 Ministry of Commerce import ban, the Consumer Protection Board's sales ban, and the Customs Act B.E. 2560, all of which underpin Thailand's uncompromising stance on vaping.
