Vaping Ban

Vaping Ban

Nicaragua enforces a total nationwide ban on vaping, reaffirmed in 2026 under Ministerial Resolution No. 334 2021, which prohibits the manufacture, import, export, sale, promotion, storage, distribution, and use of all e-cigarettes and vaporizers, with or without nicotine. Authorities describe these products as containing toxic substances linked to cancer, and the Ministry of Health has ordered all government agencies to ensure strict enforcement.

Punishment

Violations trigger legal sanctions under the General Health Law, and travelers arriving at Augusto C. Sandino International Airport face Xray screening, confiscation, and potential heavy fines for carrying any vape device. The ban is absolute tourists and residents alike are subject to enforcement, and even nicotine free devices are illegal.
