Singapore enforces one of the toughest vaping bans in the world, with all evaporisers fully prohibited including their use, purchase, possession, import, sale, and distribution.
Under the Tobacco and Vaporisers Control Act (TVCA), taking effect 1 May 2026, penalties become even harsher: individuals can face fines up to SGD 10,000 for possessing or using a vape, and up to SGD 20,000 or 10 years imprisonment if the device contains specified psychoactive substances such as etomidate . From 1 September 2025, enforcement intensified across public spaces, with police, transport staff, and health authorities conducting coordinated operations; recalcitrant users may also be required to undergo rehabilitation or mandatory supervision . Suppliers and importers face the harshest punishments mandatory imprisonment and fines reaching SGD 200,000-300,000, with additional caning for SPS related offences . These measures reflect Singapore's whole of government strategy to deter vaping, especially among youth, and to curb the rise of devices containing dangerous substances.
