This site has been put online to help the travelling
smoker who may go through security too early and find out that there
is no where to relieve the cravings and end up with several hours in
hell without a cigarette. Maybe they will find out too late and have a sneaky smoke in
the toilet that
ends up with them paying a hefty fine that they can't afford or setting of the fire alarm and gets the airport evacuated.
Primarily we will cover AOE (Airport of Entry) airports, that is
airports with immigration and custom services. As this is a new
venture it will take time to go fully international and cover
everything.
Against popular belief around 1/4 to 1/3 of the worlds adult
population (that's 1 billionish people) still smoke and an airport
that refuses to provide smoking facilities is neglecting to provide
for a large amount of its users. By doing this they are
providing bad customer service which must reflect on the general
standing of the airport.
Personally I plan long trips around
airports that do have smoking facilities. I have been surprised
that sometimes it can work out more convenient and cheaper as they
tend to be medium sized and looking for good business. It is time for some
of these large airports to get off their moral high ground and start
providing their customers with the facilities they deserve. Smaller airports though tend not to have the
budget to provide the smoker with such.
If you are at airport please provide us with feedback or/and pictures of the smoking facilities that you do/don't come across, this will help us expand more quickly with confirmed data. You can do this by going here.
Most pages have links to the official website of the airports, send them requests for smoking areas.
