About

Kuwait is a small but strategically significant Gulf nation, located at the north western tip of the Arabian Gulf and bordered by Iraq and Saudi Arabia. It operates as a constitutional monarchy led by a hereditary emir and is known for having the oldest directly elected parliament in the Gulf region, giving it one of the most active political landscapes in West Asia. Despite its modest size, Kuwait holds the world's sixth largest crude oil reserves, making hydrocarbons the backbone of its economy and supporting one of the highest per capita incomes globally. The country has a population of around 4.8 - 5 million, with expatriates making up nearly 70% of residents, creating a highly diverse social fabric. Kuwait is currently pursuing its long term development plan, New Kuwait 2035, which focuses on economic diversification, infrastructure expansion, and private sector growth to reduce reliance on oil.
